BREAKING NEWS...FROM 14 HOURS AGO...
I value sleep. I love it. I respect that my boss (Andy) sleeps later than I do, but I usually don't care since nothing really goes on that needs his ZOMGIMEDIATEATTENSHUN. Today, I thoughtlessly called him at 9:55 AM. I have no regrets. BOOM. TAKEI TROLLS AGAIN, STILL PRODUCTIVE Even though it was reported that the Shaman King series will have a big announcement planned for March 2012, the Shaman King manga series will get a jump start long before that. In the December issue of the newly created monthlyJump Kai magazine which will be released on November 10th, 2011, there will be a brand new Shaman King oneshot! It will contain color pages and be 44 pages in length. This is also the first oneshot in a series of oneshots leading up to the big announcement for spring 2012. The total number of pages for this "series of oneshots" will be 144 pages. This could lead to around 3 or 4 oneshots in total. Because of this strong number of pages, a volume combining all these oneshots with the Remix Tracks (currently being released in the Shaman King re-release under the "Remix" imprint) is highly likely. This announcement could possibly be a new anime, as mentioned in an earlier news post. In addition to the oneshot, there will also be a brand new color poster included with every issue of Jump Kai (most likely featuring Yoh). The plot of this new oneshot was also included in this ad. The story will be centered around Yoh Asakura leaving his hometown of Izumo and heading to Tokyo for the first time, as well as helping the spirit of a dead child pass on. Last year, before restarting the Jumbor manga series in Ultra Jump, Takei drew two oneshots for Jumbor which continued the original Jyuki Ningen Jumbor plotline. The news of this oneshot in Jump Kai has been very well received in Japan on Twitter. Today the tag #マンキン (#mankin) reached a Trending Topic phrase in Japan. "Mankin" is short for "Sha man King." Oh hay guize. Long time no see. Well, we can blame that on Shaman King KZB finishing up a while ago and other things. BUT, now we can be together again in glorious harmony over some nice releases in the world of Shaman King. SHAMAN KING REMIXThis is yet another reprint of the manga, this time using the KZB art/format/ending. It's been coming out bi-weekly since April, and will end with 16 volumes in October or something. You can't get most of them anymore since there was only one printing. Never fear! Against Andy's advice I bought them only to find that there are new minichapters at the end of each volume! Yay! It was accompanied by shows like Cowboy Bebop and other classics. This piqed our interest since it was an anime pin-up, and really, there was no reason for it to be there. Oh...and one more thing... Italian Publisher Star Comics Licenses Kang Zeng Bang
Shaman King: Perfect Edition to be Released in ItalyOn April 14th, Star Comics, the Italian publisher of “Shaman King” and “Butsu Zone” announced plans to release “Shaman King: Perfect Edition” in Italy starting in November 2010. This is the Italian translated version of the Shaman King: Kang Zeng Bang editions that were released in Japan in 2008-2009. The Italian release contains everything the original Japanese print had, including the Oversoul covers. The price for the volumes will be € 5.90, or about $7.99 USD. The original Japanese prints of the volumes were 952 yen, which is just over $10 USD. It has not been announced at what rate the volumes will be released. The Japanese releases were two volumes a month until completion. Additionally, it has not been said if this would include the fanbook “Mentalite” or not. However, Star Comics did release both the “Man.Ji.En” and the “Shaman King Fanbook” in Italy, so releasing the “Mentalite” as well, appears likely. We will follow up on this story as more information is released.
